23 wks pregnant, same weight... why does my back hurt?
Hi all. Don't worry, I'll ask my doctor about this when I get there, but I'm annoyed so I'm posting here anyway.
I weigh the same as I did when I conceived, but my back really hurts this week. I haven't done any weird lifting or twisting AFAIK. Is it just my shifting center of gravity? I'm showing some now, but not so much that I _feel_ off-balance...

Yes your center of gravity is changing. Carrying that tummy (and larger breasts) can make your back sore.
Try warm baths, a heating pad (set on low), or maybe look into getting a prenatal massage.
Your balance is off right now. Keep that in mind when navigating stairs, slippery snow covered ground, or anytime tripping on something is a possibility.
Good luck!

Its the ligaments stretching that support the uterus! Back pain is also caused by the narrowest part of your back (your waist) has to balance your growing uterus and because the normally stable joines in your pelvis have loosened somewhat.
Try elevating your legs, laying down, and using a heating pad.

I would defiantly talk to the doctor about the weight gain though.
