PS3 Backup / Restore problem ?
I have recently had my PS3 replaced under warranty from Sony. Before exchanging systems I created a backup of my old system to an external USB hard drive. The backup took about 40 minutes to complete. If I plug the HDD into my computer I can see the backup is stored in \PS3\EXPORT\BACKUP\200812091953 and the folder contains several files archive.dat archive2.dat etc. The files total 31gb in size.
When I have tried to restore the system using the Backup\Restore option, the system carries out a restore - first warning me that the backup was created on a different PS3. The restore takes about 1 minute, and appears to restore nothing.
How can I restore my system - all I really want are my game saves, dont want to playing from scratch again.
Can anyone help ?

relies upon on the information which would be backed up and restored. no longer all documents could be transferred using an exterior gadget or used on yet another PS3 through particular regulations. If the two PS3s are in working difficulty, maximum appropriate is to apply the information flow application. which will replica each and every thing over precisely as this is on the unique PS3 to the recent PS3. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, which will delete all documents from the unique PS3 after the flow. So in case you prefer to maintain each and every thing and use the information on the two systems, then using an exterior gadget to back up and replica stuff over would be suitable. however back, no longer each and every thing will artwork that way.
