Depends how old you are. I can't answer that if you're older than 18, but I'm not and I have some good ideas for people younger than that. Because if you're older than that, you might exercise more and eat out more and ****. I'm giving this answer to a moderately active teen age 13-18.

To be honest, the best diet is simply eating healthy. Yeah, it's not good to overdo portion sizes but if you're hungry, EAT SOMETHING. Raw broccoli (get this into your head - broccoli is YUMMY. How could anyone think it tastes bad? It's like tasteless and refreshing...) is a great idea. Also, if you're actually trying to lose weight vs. just moving on to healthy living, cut out ALL sweets. No chocolate, no candy, and NO JUICE. I am a juice addict and when I kept a food diary for a week, I realized that I was having around 5 glasses of juice a day! That's SICK! One 250mL glass of Tropicana is around 200 calories!

Anyways, hope this helps. Please answer some of my questions!

Just watch your calorie intake and drink a lot of water. If you don't exercise you need to start. Even if that is going on a bike ride or taking a walk for a mile or so. Also it's not the amount of calories per se it's how many calories you put in at once. So if you go for 2000 calories a day don't eat all of them at once. Your body stores the extra calories as fat. So if you eat many small meals throughout the day you will be much better off. Not only do you regulate the amount of calories your taking in at once it keeps your metabolism going and that helps burn calories as well.

I lost all my weight using the Cambridge Diet. I went to my doctor first, had bloodwork drawn and vitals checked and then with her permission I started the diet with the promise that I'd return for a followup within a couple of weeks. I stuck to the diet and 3 weeks later went for my followup. I'd lost 17 lbs, my high blood pressure had corrected, my high cholesterol had corrected, and I felt fantastic. I was the first patient she'd known to try this diet but she said she was going to recommend it to all of her patients after seeing my results. YAY! If you're interested just do a search for Cambridge Diet. There are tons of consultants out there who sell it, or you could just go to the main Cambridge Diet page and place your order direct.
