What do you do if you have been injured in a car accident?
I was a passenger of a car accident. I have been having constant back pain and muscle stiffness ever since the accident. I believe the car I was in was not at fault. However, the driver refuses to give me any information regarding the accident because he's afraid of being sued. I only have the full name and license number of the driver of the car I was in. What steps should I take?

Seek medical aid, tell them it's the result of a car accident. The driver of the car you were in should have medical that will cover you. Once you are better, and released from care, give the driver your total bill so he can turn it in to his insurance.

Do you know who the driver's insurance company is? If so, call them. You only other choice is to sue the driver in small claims court because to pay for your medical bills. You have to go to the doctor before you can sue him because you have to take bills to court with you.
Report the accident to the DMV. In California you have to fill out an SR-1 form.

The driver has a legal obligation to provide insurance/vehicle details. And of course, it isn't he you would sue but his insurers.
Better talk to him again and say you will contact police to get details or see a lawyer.

GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND CHECK THAT OUT THEN SUE THE GUY!
