Opened bottle of red wine - still good for cooking?
Bottle of red wine was opened over a week ago (maybe even two?), its corked and been sat on the sideboard in the kitchen. Will it still be any good for cooking? or do i need to set it free on a journey of discovery down the plug hole?

Your wine is still good. When you use wine for cooking, you bascially want the flavor of the wine and not so much of the alcohol. I've used wine that's been corked for over 2 months and my dishes turn out the same. The flavor of the wine will still be there, so no worries. Happy cooking!

It'll probably not taste the same in a glass but it's perfectly fine for cooking. I'm a chef and I have old drops of wine here and there. The alcohol burns off in the cooking process anyway. Go ahead and enjoy.

Do not set the wine free! I repeat, do not set the wine free! Stick it in the cooking. Doesn't matter if it's been hanging around for a while. Enjoy!

I love to drink red wine

Take a tiny sip before you ruin your whole meal. If it makes you gag...down the hole it goes...;) Personally, I think it would be still good if you HAD refrigerated it. Once opened, I always refrigerate what's left...k?

It's probably fine but I'd give it a taste just to be sure. Obviously if it tastes off then don't use it.

Fine for cooking ---taste it and if ok (not sour) drink it
