You can do this yourself if you want but the quality is not the greatest. If you have digital 8 you can do this pretty easily but if it is regular 8 you need to get special hardware and software for capturing the video.
Another option you have is to send your tapes to StashSpace.Com and they will digitize them for you. It usually costs $7 per hour tape but they are running a promo where the tape transfer to digital is FREE with a Premium account. The premium account offers online video storage and high quality video sharing.
Once the digital files have been made you can edit your video online to create custom DVDs or you can get the files back on a portable hard drive.
Check them out at http://www.stashspace.com/ or give them a call they have excellent service. Good Luck.

Do you have a cable attatchment on your digital camera to play the tapes on a television or by using a VCR utilising RCA jacks? if so you should purchase a DVD Recorder and use the RCA plugs to feed the video to the DVD Recorder. maximum DVD recorders have the computerized bankruptcy characteristic. DVD's are + or - so verify which variety play in the gadget you intend to view your recorded DVD's in to verify that with the recorder you purchase.

You can try Moyea Leawo video converter, to convert to DVD.
Also you can edit the files, to better quality.
And you can set the start and end time, that's to say, you can set the target file's duration time, as you like.
Beside, to crop the pictures is available.
And batch convert is realized, so that you need not to convert one by one.
Hope you will have good time using it, and Merry Christmas!

Try a professional DVD creator to do this.I have been using Cucusoft DVD/VCD/SVCD Creator Pro. It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format.
I downloaded it here:
