It pains me to know that the Iraqi reporter who threw the shoes at Bush missed. He should have beaned the knucklehead. Perhaps he would have knocked some sense into his vacuous head.

Hopefully though, Congress and the American people will throw a different sort of shoe at Bush and Cheney once they leave office - a shoe that resembles a one-way ticket to the Hague to stand trial as international war criminals. With the recently released Senate report on the treatment of prisoners in Afghanistan, Gitmo and elsewhere throughout the world, that seems to be an increasingly likely possibility.

YES - but there are alternatives to boxing up a shoe and sending it:

1. take your lightest weight sandal, wrap light coloring packing tape around it, mark the address on the tape with a thick black marker, and have the post office attach a postage paper to it.

2. tie 2 shoes together at the laces, open the trunk of your car and capture the laces inside the trunk with the shoes hanging outside. If done in the next day or two, people will 'get it'.

I'm kind of curious, why do you think Bush is worse than, say, Clinton or Reagan? Yes, a lot of people died under Bush's bombs but Clinton was responsible for 2.2 million dead Iraqis, tens of millions of Africans after he bombed Africa's only malaria medicine plant, and hundreds of thousands of Afghans condemned to death by feminist Democrats.

We should send one of those big drink buckets that you can get at a bar. Cut 2 eye holes in one side and send it as a shoe crash helmet. Strap goes under the chin.

Yes, definitely. Preferably a really smelly one. Perhaps with encrusted dog crap. If our own Press won't stand up to Bush like this courageous fellow did, the least we can do is applaud his actions by emulating his actions at least symbolically.
