The Gospels record Jesus' teaching TO JEWS LIVING UNDER THE LAW. I AM NEITHER.

Hebrews 9-10 makes it clear that Jesus' DEATH opened the way for us. There were NO CHRISTIANS DURING JESUS' earthly lifetime.

Hebrews 9:13 Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. 14 Just think how much more the BLOOD OF CHRIST will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. 15 That is why he is the one who mediates a NEW COVENANT between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ DIED to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.

    ...

Hebrews 10:19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 BY HIS DEATH, Jesus OPENED A NEW AND LIFE-GIVING WAY through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with CHRIST'S BLOOD to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Funny that the canonical Gospels line up so well with a document ~155 years before that date... and, WHAT does 325 have to do with it? I am guessing you refer to the "Council of Nicaea," which took place that year, BUT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ESTABLISHING THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON!

... We see this ERROR quite frequently in this forum, BUT, the AGENDA and DECISIONS (known as canons themselves) of this council are WELL KNOWN, having been preserved intact, and they include NOTHING on the Canon of scripture.

The Church, because the Church is nothing more than all believers as a collective whole. You must follow God though. Man (all of the church is included here) is fallible. The Pope, the clergy, Elders all don't really have any authority. The only authority they have over our lives is how our meetings are run, and even that authority is limited. It's merely their gift; hence, we the church give them the responsibility.

The Gospels were selected in 325CE by a committee set up by Emperor Constantine.

You do not have to belong to a Church to be faithful.
