Connecting TV to PC problem... TV- 1 composite input. PC - 1- S-video and 1 DVIport?

Okay, I have a pretty basic TV with only one composite video input. My graphics card (8500gt) has 1 VGA, 1 DV1, and one S-video output. I use the VGA port fir my monitor since that's the only one it can fit in.

The DVI port is free. I'm using the cables that came with the gpu. This cable allows me to connect an s-video cable or component cables via the s-video port.

I also have a little jack that supports s-video to composite but that doesn't work. I tried connecting my tv to the component output of my dvd player one at a time, it shows but in black and white. When I connect it to the component output from the PC nothing shows.

Can this be connected directly? or does this need to have a special electronic converter for it. If it can indeed be connected directly then just tell me which wires and I'll do some splicing... I got spares.

Thanks in advance.
