How do I properly archive newspapers?

I have saved newspapers and other items from the election that I wish to give my son for his 18th birthday. How do I best protect them? Are there sleeves available that fit newspapers? Is there a sturdy box I might find, and where would I go to get one?

I just wrote a letter to The New York Times. I was told by someone who used to work there that they sell something for about $14 that does the job well. I can report back with their response when I get it but by then this question may be closed.

Also, visit your local library. They deal with this all the time and may be able to assist you . . . for FREE (good in this economy).

You should invest in those plastic sleeves that are acid free that protect papers. You can find sleeves in art supply stores. I keep my newspapers in clear, thick zip lock bags that are designed for such use. If you put them in a box, they will get tarnished and yellow over time.

Do you have like a Staples or office supply store in your area? If not, google "art supplies" and search stores for clear sleeves. They aren't expensive and you can also put them in the box after you sleeve them.

    Happy shopping!
