    I have a CZ 527 Carbine chambered in 7.62X39MM.......

This gun is a fabulous rifle..... Its short, light weight and excellent for the brush.... Its not a large rifle and if you haven't seen one your first impression would be its kind of small.... Of course if you want to make super long reach shots at great distances I would recommend a larger gun...... The CZ 527 is great for target shooting and general all around critter slaying if your in brushy areas or area's its not easy to move around or crawl in........

The open iron sites are most excellent...... I am supposed to wear glasses (rarely do) and have no problems putting all shots on a 10 inch steel plate to 125 yards.... (thats excellent for me and this rifle is capable of much greater accuracy - just not in my hands without a scope)..... I cant get the accuracy with other open site Ruger Mini's and various bolt action rifles like I can with this CZ.....

Do consider the 527 in 7.62X39MM.... The reason I got mine in that cartridge is because the ammo is cheap and the other rifles I have (SKS AK types) aren't accurate..... This bolt action rifle is.....

They are a little pricey and no I don't think its an end all be all rifle but mine has been an absolute pleasure to use.....

I just got one, and I love it. (mine is a 7.62x39mm) The open sights were off a good bit, but I had an old scope I put on it, and it shoots pretty nice groups at 100yds with the cheap Wolf ammo. You'll love the single-set trigger, too!

I got a chance to shoot one and it was a good quality rifle. light weight, and everything was very tight. no movement on anything except that parts that we supposed to. i was able to get .5 inch groups average out of it at 100 yds.

Well built and very comfortable to handle and shoot. A good buy for the money.
