Smoke dectector beeping?
I have a BRK Electronics smoke detector/fire alarm in my apartment. It started beeping , at about 30 sec intervals, and I can't shut it off. I have no manual . Help, it's driving me crazy!!!
There is no visible battery, just wires.

Replace the battery. If that doesn't stop the beeping it's possible that the detector is not working properly and should be replaced. I checked the manual and learned that this detector had an 8 year life span and the persistant beep indicated that it should be replaced. Remove the facing and replace with fresh new batteries!

If there is no battery and it is hooked up by electricity, you need to make sure all wire have not come loose.
There should be a battery for power outages. Take the whole thing down, and just investigate it.

That sound is to let you know the batteries are needing changing. Just put in new batteries and you have fixed the problem plus you're covered for fire safety.

You have to open the smoke detector to get at the battery.
It will bleep when the battery is running low, it sounds a bit like a bird cheeping.
