My 14yr old chow mix baby girl is driving me nuts!?

She hurt her left hind leg last year but the vet says she'll get better. Now, she cries and whines, follows me everywhere and whines, limps on her leg, hangs her head and stares....whines and pants. It's hard for her to get up or lay down.

Around 1AM, she starts this routine of walking, walking, walking, trying to get out of the door, whining....kind of like she has Alzheimer's. She wakes me up out of a dead sleep. I'm really concerned about her. She's lost weight and doesn't sleep much.

I feel so sorry for her. I can't afford a vet....can't get out of his office for less than $200. I sure pray she isn't in pain.

Please help!

Update:

I am sooo sorry.....I thought I was in PETS/DOGS area....omg! Thanks for your kind answers....goes to show how upset I am.

Well first, your question is in the wrong section. Second, it kind of sounds like she is in pain. If she's limping a lot and whining a lot that's a good indication that she could be hurting. A dog that's not hurt wouldn't limp on a leg. She could have the start of Alzheimer's, but the only way to be sure is to take her to a vet. Honestly, if it's really that bad, and you're really concerned about her, try to find someone to help you out so you can pay for the vet bill. Like borrow money from a friend and say "I'm only able to pay a little at a time." some vets do that too, where you make monthly payments. good luck
