What is the Republican Agenda regarding bailouts?

The Repubs were hot to bail out the banks, they did and now the bank execs are using tax dollars for their bonuses. Now they would like to put the American car manufacturers out of business to kill off the unions. Is their agenda a minimum wage country?

The auto mobile manufacturers were promised 17.4 billion this morning. That should hold them until the 20th of January and the new President can do as he wishes. Maybe then you people will quit talking out your @sses!

President-elect Barack Obama, who takes office a month from Saturday, praised the White House move.

"Today's actions are a necessary step to help avoid a collapse in our auto industry that would have devastating consequences for our economy and our workers," he said. "With the short-term assistance provided by this package, the auto companies must bring all their stakeholders together - including labor, dealers, creditors and suppliers - to make the hard choices necessary to achieve long-term viability."

"The Repubs were hot to bail out the banks"

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Republicans voted against bailing out the banks the first time. The Democrats scolded them for doing so. The Republicans also voted against bailing out the auto companies.

Bush is the Republican that favors bailing out these companies. He is acting alone, and in cooperation with Democrats.

Don't kid yourself into thinking that unions are always interested in protecting workers. I was once in a big union (won't say which) and was laid off, I had 4 years at the place and they kept a guy to do my job who only had 3 months there. The union did nothing to protect my seniority because the guy who kept his job was going to be paying the same amount in dues as i would be if I kept my job.

Unless the unions get completely out of politics i don't care if they do get killed off.

Most GOP congressmen voted NO on the wall st bail out. It received far more DEMOCRAT support than it did GOP support!

They are very un-American, they want to be dependent on foreign car makers, just as we are on foreign oil.
