Does Illinois have something like the 25th Amendment, whereby Gov. Blagojevich could temporarily step aside?

while the Lt. Governor becomes acting governor while Blagojevich "clears" his name as promised. If there is such a provision, has someone suggested it to him? Or, can the governor's cabinet require him to do it like the president's cabinet can under the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?

BTW, I don't think he can clear his name. But, he has the right to try. Paralyzing state government in the process is wrong, however.

Update:

Thanks, tincoatr. If that is true, then he SHOULD be impeach, tried, and removed for putting himself above the needs of the state.

Yes. The Illinois Constitution has provisions to allow the governor to temporarily step aside. He would even keep getting paid while he did it. This has been suggested to the governor but he has refused.

Yeah. Let him step aside. Then somebody can sell his seat. Maybe they can bundle the governor and senate seats together. Two for the price of one.

Com'on, this is Chicago. Nothing clean. Not even that one.
