When did human sacrifice end as part of a major religion?

Did it it end with the fall of Carthage to Rome and the fall of the Aztecs to Spain?

    The Romans did practice human sacrifice on a couple of occasions (buried people alive) but the end of institutional human sacrifice came with the fall of the Aztec Empire.

    The Spanish Inquisition was burning people quite recently. It was finally stopped by Napoleon, so the last burning would have been around the end of the 18th century.

    You might argue that thuggee and suttee in India were a sort of human sacrifice till they were banned in the 19th century.
