What do I major in before I get my masters in Physical Therapy?

    It depends on the school you choose. There are several options

    The first is a DPT. Colleges have either a 3+3 or or a BS plus 3. So if you enter college as a freshman you take pre req for 3 years and begin in your 4th year in the PT program and finish in 6 years.

    Or

    you get a BS degree in anything as long as you meet the prereq such as bio, chem, physics, cal, stats, psy, gross anatomy, physiology, etc. The degree could be bio, psy, athletic training, kinesiology, exercise science. Then you do a 3 year entry level doctorate

    The previous 2 options are the majority of programs. All schools are going to these 2 options. There are a few masters levels program left.

    The same ideas apply. You go for 3 years and then for 2 years you do PT at the same college OR you get a BS with the pre req as above and you get a 2 year masters.
