Hey guys, I need some help....?
I'm thinking about getting a 97 Wrangler Tj 4x4, I need it for these great Wisconsin winters and some "minor" offroading, nothing too serious though. I found these lockers, and I don't know what the difference is really (27 or 30 spline, dana 35 or 44??). When turned "on", will the tires be spinning together, like a welded rear end?

Also, which is more needed to run 31" aggressive tires, a 3in body lift, or a 4 inch suspension lift. If I want the lockers (which I do), I really only have money for one of the lifts at this time... I'm taking the tires off my old 91 cherokee that died on me three days ago, brand new tires...

So what should I do if I wanted the rear lockers, and the front to always be in a state of "limited slip", so I don't get stuck with one front tire spinning, while the other does nothing?

I don't know what splines you would have, you would have to get under the jeep to check the diffs to be completely sure, these lockers look like auburns electric lockers and they will lock the diffs completely together like a spool or welded diff. I would go for the 4 inch suspension lift, Body lifts are cheaper but suspension are way better, body lifts can crack around the mounts and you have gaps between the frame and bumpers that are quite noticeable .

I would go with the suspension lift rather than the body lift. You can run 31'' tires with little or no lift. I would get a front locker first if you really want one.
