Metal-heads: What's your favorite album of 2008?

Metallica - Death Magnetic. There aren't too many albums these days that impress me the way that this one did. I didn't think they had this in them anymore and they proved me wrong!

1- Sahg- ll- awesome Doom band from Norway- fans of Ozzy-era Sabbath will love these guys; they write great songs and handle everything from nice acoustic instrumentals to groovy sludge riffs and trippy, experimental stuff like on Sabotage.

2- New CD by Testament

3- New Motorhead- although the last album was better, Lemmy still murders anyone else alive. He doesn't f/u/k/c around.

Opeth's Watershed, Kamelot's Ghost Opera: The Second Coming, and Equilibrium's Sagas.

The Scarecrow by Avantasia gets my vote. Sammet did a wonderful job with the album, matched his Metal Opera efforts as well.

Death Magnetic mainly because I'm just so relieved it's not St Anger Part 2.....other contenders are:

Soulfly's "Conquer" is badass

The New cradle of filth album of course!!

It has this heavy atmosphere to it, lol, the theme is awesome and the gothic lyrics match it perfectly!!

Cynic's "Traced in the air" is cool, I heard only a couple of songs but they were awesome!!

Opeth "Watershed" was awesome, I love it!!

Brin me the horizon's "Suicide season" was cool!

I didnt listen to Satyricon and Enslaved yet =(

No, Seriously, CoF's album is the best, in my opinion of course!!

There were a lot of great albums that came out this year from different bands, you just gotta look for 'em. The one I like the most out of my short list here would have to be Amon Amarth, Tattered Banners And Bloody Flags is my favorite off the album. They just keep getting better and better.
