Christmas Gift Ideas? ?

A very good friend of mine will have his divorce become final soon. He's living on his own and the divorce has hit him deeply emotionally and financially.

I want to be sure he has a nice Christmas and would like to get him a gift that is meaningful to him. He's late-40's.

Ideas ?

Update:

He has a one-bedroom apartment and they split the furnishings from their home so he's ok with "stuff."

I'm thinking of doing a box with movie tickets, a "getting over the guilt with divorce" book but I need an idea for something kinda silly that will make him smile.

Update 2:

I don't think he's ready for the Match.com quite yet.

Give him your understanding and empathy. And, he would probably appreciate a good home cooked meal.
