What is the highest rank you can achieve in 2 years?

Say the draft was in effect, and you were drafted at the age of 18, serving till the age of 21: being shipped to Iraq directly after boot camp and training. What is the highest rank you can achieve? Will you have to be shipped back to officer school to become an officer?

Also it possible in that period of time to enter the navy seals or any other sort of elite squad instead?

yofuture.... do you know ANYTHING about the military?

E6? are you crazy? You'd be a damn hero to see E4 in 2 years. Most likely you'd be an E3. Three years? E4 isn't that hard to get in three years.

Wow. Ok, yes you would have to go through OCS to become an officer.

In 2-3 years, you'd probably be an E-4. Assuming you are in Army and want special forces, assuming you were good enough you could train to do that.

However, my dad was drafted into the army in 68, and because so many people were dying and all that, he was E-5 in less than 2 years.

In this day and age, I'd say E-4 tops.

Back in World War II my old high school physics teacher's father was drafted in 1942 and came out a Master Sergeant in the Corps of Engineers in 1945.

What a different world we live in today.

If the draft was ever reinstated, it would mean some serious world event had occurred and there was a need for a lot of lower enlisted, particularly infantry. (Think "Saving Private Ryan")

In that case, you'd have to really distinguish yourself in order to move up quickly.

    Pay Grade E-5 (a SGT E-5 or a SP5 E-5) in the Army.
