In other words, why not just "abc" order?

cuz back then, when they had abc order, the keys got stuck and jammed and so some guy i forgot who, he made up the qwerty. it put the most commonly used letters far apart so it prevents jamming. theres other formats like i think its called dvorak or something.

Makes me wonder why is wasn't called "YUIOP".

Qwert has been the standard for quite some time. I think you'd have to go back to something as old as a manual type writer to find an ABC order.

Difficult to explain, but it was done so that words could be typed naturally and as rhythmically as possible.
