1970s 0r early 1980s?

i remember seeing a movie back in the 1970s or early 1980s but for the life of me i can't remember what its called....all i remember is it had something to do with beaches...one of the main characters went by the name Dugan or something like that....was a romance/comedy...by todays standards it would be classified as Rated B
