Pulled muscles caused by coughing?
Does anyone have any remedies for this? My ribs feel like they have been bruised badly and my abdomen feels like it is on fire whenever I cough. It hurts to even move. I took a warm bath earlier but that did not seem to help much. have been searching the internet for home remedies of pulled muscles, but they all discuss exercise related injuries. Any suggestions?
I have been doing a little research now and it seems that it is possible to strain your diaphragm, which I believe to be the case along with straining the intercostal muscles. Oh well. Hopefully I will be feeling better by tomorrow, with it being Christmas Eve and all.

Sorry for you pain. I don't know about a remedy for you muscles other than time, but for you cough. Put Vick's Vapor Rub on you feet and cover with socks. That will help with you cough. Hope you feel better soon.

I did the same thing, it's not rare when people have a cough that they hurt their intercostal muscles which are located near the ribs. Nothing much you can do except let it heal

i've heard of people breaking ribs coughing too hard, you should go to a doctor and get a chest x-ray, especially if the pain doesnt start to go away in a day or so.

wet a medium sized towel in warm water. put it in the microwave for about 5 minutes. it will be hot when it comes out, so be CAREFUL. take and put it over another dry towel in the area where it hurts. keep it there for ten minutes. do this every couple of hours til it feels better. this usually helps me within the second hour.

You need to stretch your arms overhead... grab the top of the doorframe in a doorway and try to stretch best you can.
