Was wrestling better in the 80's/90's?

Is it just me or does it seem that the WWF/WWE was much better in the 1980's and early 1990's than it is today? It could be that I'm grown up now but watching older videos it just seems so much better back then. Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Brett Heart. You had tag teams that actually had a team name. Maybe it's just me.

Update:

sleepycat: Did you really just say that wrestling was new in the 80's. The WWF has been around since the 1950's

I agree with you Kevin wrestling was so much better in the 80's and 90's,back when they had good tag teams and you know who was suppose to be good. Randy"Macho Man" Savage was a great wrestler, but I think that after he and Miss Elizabeth divorced that Macho kind of went strange.Hogan was all that and more, love Bret"The Hitman"Hart. By the way Kevin it is so nice to answer a question from some one who liked these stars. And we can't forget Ric"The Nature Boy"Flair. Have a Merry Christmas.

1996 to 2003 was the peak. It didn't get better and never was better. It started with the NXO, DX, the Nation, Hart Foundation and any other factions that built up business. Austin, The Rock, HHH, Goldberg, Benoit, Jericho, Angle, WCW vs WWE, WCW vs NWO. The business was at it's best. The talent was high, the storylines were ghreat, the crowds were into it. But you never know, maybe wrestling can push another boom wit WWE vs TNA. Or ay least until WWE buys all their talent out.

IMO late 90s-2002 was best time, because the WWE had almost all the best superstars and the crowds were still crazy xD

YES, cause the audience "are'nt aware" that what the wrestlers hulk hogan and undertakers etc doing are all fake and all scripted. nicely done. and wrestling is new that time so people are excited to see them and its like something new to them those days..
