Why did we elect a man that believes in youth armies as president? ?

We elected Obama because he is the only one who offered a different solution from Bush's devotion to Reaganomics and foolish wars. Look at what McCain and Palin argued for in the election. Deregulation is the CAUSE of our present economic downturn, because it allowed CEOs to get very greedy. What was McCain and Palin's answer to it? You got it... Deregulation.

The War on Terror was needlessly expanded into Iraq that only now after five years of stupid mistakes looks like it might be won. But even still, the American military is over extended and can not afford another war. Logically, either we must sacrifice other allies, like Japan (which constitutionally maintains no military) or Taiwan (which is dependent on US strategic and material support to keep the mainland Chinese from finishing the Chinese Civil War) or we must use diplomacy to shore up our relations with our allies in Europe so that France, Germany, and Italy are also active in participation and support, not just the UK. What was McCain and Palin's position? Same as Bush's. Insult our allies and start a land war with Russia over Georgia without any consideration about where the troops for such a campaign were to come from.

You might have a point in the similarity between some of the words Obama used in his speaches and some of the words used by Hitler, but any such similarity is only a coincidence. Mainly for two reasons.

One, the Germans in 1933 culturally wanted a "Kaiser" figure to return. They didn't like democracy and wanted a strong man. Hitler, historically proved to be the best choice for the strong man. America has had over two hundred years of democratic history. We don't want a dictator, and if it becomes clear that one was elected, he'd be voted OUT of power.

Second, while Hitler gave his speaches about revitalizing Germany and restoring its national honor, which to a lot of people sounded great, Hitler also had a book out in publishing called "Mein Kampf" and in that work, Hitler told no lies about what he intended to do to Europe's Jews and what he thought of them. Obama has yet to publish a book in which he states intentions that are contrary to what he's said in public.

You want to dissagree with Obama, fine. Please find real facts other then disgruntled Right Wing websites in the supposidly "Liberal controlled media (the internet is a form of media!)" because those guys will always put their version of the truth, which has gone so far that it is officially a lie.

Edit: I am personally shocked by the stupidity of the right wing yahoos writing answers. All of them blindly think the Democrats and the Nazis have things in common. Hitler was a right wing dictator, not a left wing dictator. And if you don't want to listen to political facts, here are some historical ones. If the Democrats like Hitler so much, why did FDR try to get America to support Britain in WW2? Roosevelt was a Democrat and most of his government was made up of Democrats, and FDR was one of the strongest voices in America against Hitler.

Many of the yahoos aren't old enough to have any first hand knowledge of Hitler, so all they know is what little they may have heard while in school.

I on the other hand was alive while Hitler was. True I was not over there but I heard the stories brought back by the soldiers. I was a small lad and those stories had me thinking this guy was actually killing people himself and not being nice about it. I had night mares for a while.

There have been others of the same ilk, who were just as bad, and if Mr.Obama thinks he can do that stuff over here, he had better get himself some full body armor because someone will try to take him out.

I personally hope this is all hype and fluster, and that he actually makes a good president, but I won't hold my breath until he proves out either way. I hope for the sake of America we are wrong!

I think people need to learn about Communism, because that is what America will sink to. When people talk about a "Police State" Communism, or "Socialism"(Which applies to every Country that is Communist) is imply-ed. Communism controls Agriculture and other major fields by collectivization, or simply put "Run & owned by the Government." (Think of these "major Companies" in dire need of government cash. If your a thinker, you'll realize that the big companies now owe the Government a favor.) And as far as Youth Armies, that is a common tactic in Socialism. Research it. You start WITH THE YOUNG because they are the future. They can be manipulated better than an adult because they have "Virgin minds."

The Hitler Youth comparison seems accurate on some levels. I saw a choir of children all dressed in like clothing singing Obama praise songs during the election. I had mixed feelings about this! Obama is NOT Hitler but like Hitler; he's a great public speaker that can play the crowd like a fiddle and has mass followers that believe he can do no wrong; hope he turns out to be a better leader.

i'm an obama supporter, but some of the things you are saying about mccain just aren't fair. mccain fought for our country. he is a war hero, and when he had connections to be able to leave the torture camp early, he refused because he didn't want to leave his men behind. his personal affairs have nothing to do with us and we should not even look into them. it does not matter that he married a younger woman. also, you took out the part that he has been a senator for many, many years. he has been a mavarick in the senate, voting with his party 88 percent of the time, but that other 12 percent, he worked across party lines, and negotiated well on some important key issues. so i respect the man greatly. i will agree, though, that we need obama/biden. obama has the proposals that will save this country and biden's foreign experience will keep us safe. if we pick obama/biden, we will prosper economically and in homeland security. but still, show some respect for mccain

Granted, he lied about "changing the face of Washington" because he put everyone back in power that was in during the Clinton Administration.

He lied about pulling troops out of the war on terror.

He lied about his association with terrorists like Bill Ayers.

But Holy crud! They ignore him saying that he was going to build a civilian "force" with as much power as the Army!

I wonder what uniforms the Obama Youth will have. Will the head-dress by a Moslem towel on their head, or the little African hat like the ones that the organ grinder's monkeys wear.

On fact I posted a question similar to yours a while back with some links to you tube videos where people that are now in his cabinet believe in a mandatory draft for kids 17 and up and it got deleted, I am guessing by people that are hypnotized and do not want to see the truth.

The same reason the left voted for Adolph Hitler. They are not happy with the miserable life they have created for themselves, and want the government to take care of them and make them happy. They will never be happy, it is always someone else's fault.
