Possibly ocd in teen girl?
Could I have OCD? I sorda think I might but I know I shouldn't guess but yeah here's why I think that.
-- everything in my world has to be spotless. I clean my room and my bathroom all the time. If I see one speck of dust BAM! here comes the swiffer.
-- I'm like afraid of hair. I hate hate hate it!! I vacuum all the time because my hair falls out and it gets on my carpet.
--I have like 50 candles in my room and have tons of perfume because I'm afraid of weird smells.
--I like things clean and uncluttered but I hate throwing things out. I want to keep everything I ever gotten.
--I freak out at little things people do like slouching, talking while eating, talking too loud, making messes, ect.
Please tell me cause this is getting annoying to me AND my friends/family. I get mad at people for this stuff and I'm really SICK and TIRED of it!!
I'm a 13 year old girl so please help!

It's more likely that you have OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder) rather than OCD. A person with OCPD is usually considered to be a neat freak or perfectionist. They're usually overachievers, want everything to be just so, and like control.
A person with OCD might wash their hands 100 times a day because they're afraid of germs. They might turn the light switch on and off five times when they enter a room. A person with OCD might have an "obsession" - an intrusive thought that they can't get out of their head. Then comes a compulsion to rid themselves of the anxiety that thought produced.
For example, they may randomly think about sticking their hand down the garbage disposal and turning it on. They can't get that thought out of their head, even though the idea of doing that disgusts them. They don't WANT to do it, but the idea is in their head. And they're afraid they might. So they might tap the sink ten times when they walk by. Doing that helps ease the anxiety of that thought, even though logically they don't want to do it and logically tapping the sink does not fix or solve anything.
You don't really have the symptoms of OCD. OCPD, perhaps, but you likely just have a few quirks. Everyone has those!

I think your just a bit of a perfectionist that's all, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to be neat and tidy all of the time. But if you really feel like you have a problem try talking with a friend you can trust or an adult or even a counsellor if you are really finding it hard to deal with, good luck and just remember even if you do have ocd it's not always a really bad thing unless it's serious ocd which i;m sure it isn't.. okay now i'm just rambling.

I agree with Blah about OCPD rather than OCD.
Also, sometimes teenagers have weird quirks like this which they grow out of eventually. For the last year, I have not been able to cope with the sound of my parents chewing, especially my mum. It makes me physically ill. When I finally bought it up (we eat dinner together at the table, and I couldn't stand it any longer), dad said when he was in his teens, he had to eat in a separate room from his parents, because he had the same thing. By the time he was twenty, he'd grown out of it.
I would say that the difference between just a quirk and OCPD would be that a quirk would be more of a preference, whereas with OCPD, if something was not aligning with your ideals, you have a complete meltdown if you can't change it.
Luck =]

You may need to see a doctor for this, there is medicines available to help you. I am a believer in mind over matter, in other words I feel you can help yourself. Start by getting rid of some things you no longer need. You probably think you can't but yes you can. Take it day by day and tell yourself you will overcome this and will get better. When you get the urge to vacuum try not to, let it go and do something else to keep your mind busy. I hope this helps you and I wish you luck. I am kind of the same way and I work at it a lot to overcome the problem, it will get better if you concentrate on it and really try. Good luck!

It is good to be clean and neat or tidy. There is absolutely no harm. But taking it to the extreme and creating a fuss is not called for. Too much of anything is bad. There should be a balanced approach. We cannot avoid certain things. Even from our own body from several parts like nose, skin, arm-pit, etc. bad odor comes because of mucus, sweat, etc. Our mouth starts giving bad smell if we do not brush properly twice a day. While I agree cleanliness is next to godliness, yet one should know human limitations.

thats not OCD. I have OCD I have to count everything in 3's touch things multiple times so I can move one wear certain things think ceratin thoughts trust me its hell. What you have is more like a obsession with things organized. If are you doing this 24/7 and you can't control it then you have OCD.

I think you are just a neat freak. If you find yourself counting your steps or always relating things to numbers, then maybe you should see someone about it!

yes, I think you have OCD
don't let it take over your life
it did mine when I was like 10, and I was miserable, because i couldn't figure out what was wrong with me
I was scared
I never got treatment, because I thankfully have it much more under control now
but you really should
tell your parents what you typed here and say you want to talk to a professional
I'm sure they'll help you
I know how it is to constantly feel like your head is going to explode because of your own perfectionism

Yes, OCD is very common in teen girls. You could go to your high school counselor or you could see a teen psychologist. Its nothing to be embarrassed about, tons of people need a psychologist. :)
