Does anyone else find this infuriating?

I understand that there are extreme cases... but this article just kinda burns me up.

Um, yeah. That is incredibly infuriating. This ONE case should have been handled much differently, but who's to say that adoption would have been the best course of action? Even in this case, there was kinship care, guardianship, temporary foster care while Mom gets help, and THEN maybe they could have considered adoption. You don't just jump right from pre-birth to adoption without trying to help that child stay with her mother first!
Jeez, way to generalize. ALL unwanted pregnancies should result in adoption, right? Pfft!
ETA: Loserguurl, re-read what I wrote...slowly. That's not what I wrote.

no, I do not find the article infuriating or offensive. Casey Anthony is a horrible horrible person and that is what turns my stomach. However, from what i've heard, she never asked for help. She made the concious choice to murder her child. Now that is selfish. She chose not to ask for help; she chose not to turn to her parents (who, by outward appearances, seem like very loving people who would've helped).

Yes, it is absurd. The author of the article makes a huge assumption, that is, unplanned = unwanted. It is the same lie that the adoption industry has used for decades to try to scare women into giving their children away (unplanned=unwanted=resentment=child abuse).
The author of the article is spouting the same nonsense that Mr. Loser John McCain spouted about unplanned pregnancies, "Well, my fellow conservatives, we are going to prevent abortion by providing 'these girls' with free adoption services." The religious right just can't seem to get their collective fingers out the light socket with regards to birth control and unplanned pregnancies. I had to chuckle when Palin announced that her daughter was pregnant and keeping HER baby. F@@king hypocrite.

Wow. Just, wow. I can't believe he calls Casey Anthony Caylee's "birth mother." She was her >Mother<! Period. She was her Mommy. And she was mentally ill and killed her own daughter. That is a horrible, awful thing. But is not #^%^&*^%* >adoption<! Even if you use the term "birth mother" (which I personally try to avoid), you do not call someone a birth mother because they killed her child -- WTH! Relinquishing is the same as murder now?! -- WTH!
And then the part where he says: "My wife, Rachel, and I adopted six racially diverse children chosen at their birth." What do you want, a medal? What the $&^%* difference does it make in this context that they are "racially diverse"? And then the "chosen at their birth" part -- What? These kids were born and they happened to go down to the hospital "unwanted children's ward" on those days and say "hmm, let's see... that one... No, that one there." and Voila, "chosen" child. No, of course that was not how it happened, any more than a woman who gives birth "chooses" that child. It was pre-birth matching! I'm personally totally agains pre-birth matching, but that is actually beside the point in this case. The point is that they were NOT "chosen" and it is going to warp their poor little brainwashed minds to be raised by someone trying to instill some sort of gratefulness in them for having been "chosen" even though they are so "racially diverse"!!!
I can't go on, I'm sooooo p.o.ed at this guy! People with such warped attitudes should never be allowed to adopt! Gives the rest of us a bad name!

Casey put on a whole different attitude when she was with her ex-fiancée and his family then she did for her own family. It was unknown who Caylee’s father was she named like four men. This woman was clearly lose anyone could have been her baby’s father. Casey is also a pathological liar and I’m not sure anything she says can be taken with anything but a grain of salt. Her ex-fiancée even said she would take on a mold of the guy she was with at the moment.. For example say her new beau was into wrestling she would become into it even though she was into it prior to hooking up with this guy. This girl would tell you what you wanted to hear.
Casey wanted to place Caylee for adoption this was breaking news they talked about it for days. She was forced to parent by her own parents who “forbid” her from placing her baby for adoption. This just shows how forcing someone to parent is just as bad as forcing them to place for adoption. Casey did not want her parents to adopt her child and that was certainly her right. Women need to learn that no one expect their baby’s biological or legal father can forbid them from placing the baby for adoption. Grandparents can not like it all they want but it is not their call.
It was headlines news for months because one we have a little cute white girl. Isn’t it funny how almost every media case of a missing child that gets the most attention is always a white little girl despite of kids missing of all races. We also have the fact that Casey did not act like a grieving mother. Not to mentioned a bounty Hunter posted her bail that certainly brought some attention to it, then him offering up award money for it for a while.
I doubt she was pressured to be the best parent for one her parents were raising Caylee in fact many people who know the Anthonys say that Caylee was closer to her grandmother then she was to her own mother. It was not even Caylee who provide financially for her baby it was her parents or if she did provide anything it was stolen money from someone family or a friend. My guess is she didnt want a child cramping her style anymore, she wanted to be out dating, partying, having sex and not being responsible for a child. Her parents offered to adopt Caylee but Casey would not allow it. Basically she didn't want Caylee but didnt want her parents to have her either.

An overgeneralization is going to be out there for a long time coming because of this poor little girl and there will be an overwhelming amount of these articles sponsored by conservatives who are going to sieze on to the story to make a case against single's parenting.
However, I don't agree with the post that says who's to say this should have been handled differently. Uhh....she's dead...isn't that reason enough to think that it should have been handled differently? Dunno about anyone else but adoption sounds like it might have been a better option than death to me.

OMG she was so beautiful! I think this is absolutley horrible !!
I saw the pictures of her clubbing after her daughter 'went missing'...
COMPLETELY heartless *****
Something needs to be done.

Yeah it burns me up that people make up crap like saying the baby was unwanted. That wasn't the truth or the problem. Her unpredicted psychological problem was the issue.
I saw a taped interview of the baby's dad? and he said she wanted to raise her daughter...she loved and wanted her daughter. He said he tried to talk her into giving her up because he wasn't ready but she couldn't and just wanted his support not marriage. He ditched her for whatever reasons.
I would guess this horrific crime happened because she was so belittled and pressured to be the perfect parent by everyone.... it ate her up and she just wanted to end it. Many girls get pressured to the brink.
Source(s): Why did this story become headline news for months when this happens all the time and not just by NATURAL MOTHERS. - The Hippy MommaLv 41 decade ago
I don't understand what about the article bothers you. I think it does make sense, but not so much in the case of Caylee. Her mom had options (her parents) that could have helped take over care of her, but she never asked for help. But in other cases, I think it makes plenty of sense to adopt out children born to mom's that aren't ready to raise a child.
