2 year old sleep question?

Hi moms, my 2 and a half year old sleeps about 11 hours at night and has stopped napping altogether. He sleeps very well at night and he is an early to bed early to rise kind of guy, but by about noon he seems exhausted (yawning and eye rubbing) but he only talks in his crib, sometimes for over an hour... anyone else have this happen? He goes to bed very early because he is so, SO tired by supper time. Is he just done with naps? Wish he didn't get so tired, but I can't get him to nap at all. Thanks for the feedback.

Take him for a ride in the car for a little while. Sometimes a little country cruise can be a peaceful thing for yourself too. Once you get him into a habit, his natural body clock will get used to napping again. While trying to adjust him to this new schedule, wake him up earlier in the day after about 8-9 hours of sleep, that way come nap time he will be slightly more tired, hopefully enough to put him out.

I had this problem but I usually resorted to rocking him to sleep or lying down with him. I have never been very good at just putting the kid in the crib and going out of the room. Try some soft music or reading books to him or singing. He really still needs a nap for at least another 6 months if not longer. My oldest is almost 3.5 and he still takes naps.,

well im not a mom but by reading this it gives me an idea. i have a little brother though.. well it depends on what his bed time is and when he wakes up in the morning. i would try putting him to bed earlier or giving him a nap. but just don't set him down and walk away make him enjoy having a nap make up something. but my 3 year old brother doesn't stop taking naps it makes him refreshed and ready to play.

if this doesn't help then i am sorry

to each their own. There is no right or wrong do what works for you. Ifyou absolutly will not have her in your bed then yes your doing the right thing. If your open to her there every once and awhile then it's not going to hurt her or you. JUst don't let it get to be a habit. In my house we have a family bed. Me, my husband and a few hour a night my 5 month old. My 21 month old is sick right now so she gets up and comes to our bed too. I just let her stay. She doesn't take up much space and it makes her feel better. When she's not sick sometimes she tries to come to our bed & i'll let her but after 20 minutes shes out and a carry her back to her bed. You make the call your the parent

Do something to keep him up late. Wake him up early. Put him down for regular naps. Soon he will either get used to that or go back to his old schedule

Its prettynormal. He's off schedule and has a new routine. He still HAS to have that sleep. His body needs it for his growth and development.

Put him in bed with you, read him a book, talk with him a little in whispers, and then close your eyes and pretend to sleep. he'll follow suit. Give him a sippy if that helps.. anything thats going to get him back into that routine of napping.
