Need some helpful tips for next weekend?

I am going to be taking a 6 hour road trip with my son next weekend, I will be in the backseat with him. We are leaving around noon(If I had it my way we would leave bed time) My son is almost 8 months and I just dont know how he will ever be able to sit in his car seat that long even with stops....any helpful hints??

All i can suggest is lots of noisy toys, keep him full up with his bottles and have lots of enthusiasm when talking and playing with him! You just have to keep their mind off the fact that they are sat bored in a car seat really!

I have just been on a 14 hour flight with my 8 mnth old. I just sang and played with her all the way. Then the sound of the engine just knocks them off to sleep too. The car is the same, the motion helps them sleep.

It was tiring but we got through it ok! :)

    Good luck!

My parents live three hours away and we went to visit about once a month with my son. Six hours is a bit harder but I planned on extra long stops so that he could get out of the car seat for a bit and move around and have a change of scenery. Also since you will be in the back seat bring books and toys that he hasn't seen yet. Or maybe a portable dvd player and some baby crack I mean baby einstein dvd's. Good luck!!

oh i do 6 hour road trips all the time!! my family lives that far away from us!! my son is two, but its the same concept.

leave right after he has lunch and right before his mid-day nap.. so noon is a great time to leave. that way he will sleep at least 2 hours of your trip. take toys, lots and lots of toys (what you have room for.). If your son is into coloring, take coloring books and some markers (they are easier to write with at that age. and even if he isnt' into it yet, try to start him out. obviously your markers need to be washable.) take extra sippys (put water in most of them so when you stop for beverages you don't have to keep washing them out. you just dump the water out and put what ever else in it.). take lots of different snacks. and play peak-a-boo with him and any other fun little game that makes him laugh. put on some kid friendly music and sing in a silly way. my son loves all of these things and i'm never in the back seat with him. i'm always the one driving

You really should leave at bedtime. It would be soo much easyer. but I just suggest that you take ALOT of toys that he really likes and abunch of snacks. take a little car mirror and llet him look at himself for a while. It will distract him for a while. Stop at a mcdonalds and play in the tubes for an hour and get abunch of energy out of him.

humorous ingredient is, i'm a guy putting forward this, yet you're arranged to attend it out. assume a guy you like. an marvelous variety of my close girlfriends on the spot me to no longer lose it because of the actuality a super gamble "exceeded off" to realize. I in spite of the actuality that to this present day be apologetic approximately taking that action because of the actuality now i'm wishing that I lost my virginity to my present day lady chum of 4 years. for my area, after dropping your virginity human beings tend to throw it around devoid of which skill. intercourse feels 100x greater suitable jointly as that's with the guy which you like. do no longer pay attention to the voices of immaturity. Plus, what if he has an STD and he's protecting it cut back lower back from you? Condoms can only do plenty.

Distract him. I would pack snack along, and like rattles, and toys. Make sure he is tired, before you leave. He will sleep for most of the ride!

    Good Luck to you!

if he is anything like my daughter was, long trips she would just sleep most of the way, when you stop to change him or to stretch, take him out and stretch his too.
