How do I get the smell of pee out of everything?

My girlfriend's family is cleaning their house for a christmas party tomorrow and they have three dogs and three cats. They've been cleaning like crazy but they can't get the smell of pee out. They aren't gross people, they just can't keep track of all the little pet accidents. Does anyone know any way to get the pee smell out? Steam cleaning has almost made it worse.

    urine b gone

works wonders and you get an ultraviolet light with it so you can detect the presence of any urine and that's where you spray.

Even a professional carpet cleaning never gets the pee smell out, they may cover it for a day or so but it is always there. That is the pits of owning pets they pee everywhere and no matter what kind of floors you have the pee smell is there until you put in new floors. It gets trapped in wood floors until you sand the floors down multiple levels and refinish. Tile floor it never really goes away. Carpet it is in the carpet, the padding and whatever is under the padding. They are basically screwed until the get all new flooring and get pets that aren't nasty and are trained for indoor living. Sorry, but we have had lots of rental houses and have never had success with any wonder cure for this problem.

Steam cleaning will make it worse until it completely dries. In some cases, the animal pee soaks into the carpet and down into the subflooring, which means that the carpet and pad will have to be pulled up and subflooring replaced. Animals will continuously pee on the same spot over and over again, even if you have cleaned.

Flower-ee odor controls only mask the odor and almost makes it worse. Sorry... You can try baking soda and a urine-out treatment from your local pet store.

I agree, Nature's Miracle or a visit to a medical supply store for a similar product called something like Urine-Gone.

Problem is I bet the stink is down below the carpet into the pad. No way to get that out short of removing the pad. Then you have to worry the stink may have gotten into the subfloor. If plywood it can be painted over with encapsulating paint. If hardwood, the wood has to be replaced.......or painted ........and let the next owner replace the wood.
