The Muse called. Should I have answered?

A middle-aged Anglican vicar,

Whose midriff had gotten much thicker,

Said to his parish,

My form is quite squarish,

I'm switching from lager to liquor.

It's ok folks Jeff is just trying his hand at Global Humour....first up is the humble limerick

I like this form as a fun base for words.

There once was an Anglican Vicar

Who decried that his tongue had grown slicker

    Despite his technique

Found it too hard to speak

More's the pity, now he can't hold his liquor

    Source(s): * there's a pun in there somewhere

Not bad, but the rhythm is a wee bit out:

    Try this:

    A middle-aged Anglican vicar,

Whose midriff had gotten much thicker,

    Did say to his parish,

    "My form is quite squarish,"

So, I'm switching from lager to liquor.

Edit update; 3 thumbs down and counting. Looks like the troll's on my tail again?

Bravo for this stunning written to the gut poem and that i study and felt each note and it stung somewhat, yet you wrote this through heartache and desire, for the clouds to reveal a lighter colour of blue, actual quickly.

A fine New York poet named Jeff

To his Muse has never been deaf,

    He says, when you drink

    You really should think

It's better to eat like a chef.

We haven't seen a limerick in a while and I really appreciate this one! I think you should always listen to your Muse!

I hope Fr. Al sees this!

    Well done!

    Hey,

I AM THE MUSE, and I did NOT call!

Keep writing! We all need the levity in our lives.

    • It is amazing, fantastic, fantabulous, cool, tremendous, beautiful.

I thing you should submit it to a newspaper and the'll print it for you if they like it.
