Christians.. Really do you think...?
I've been reading this board for a few days now and have some some answers that border craziness.
My question here is...
Do you really think that everyone who does not share your beliefs are condemned? I mean... there are some really nice Buddhists out there, and you really think they're going to Hell?
I'm not trying to pick a fight here, so don't get upset- I'm just wondering why you think it is that YOU'RE the only "right" ones out there.
EDIT..
Okay, I get that the Bible says stuff... but the flipside is that Muslims are told that the Qur'an is the right path. Do you see my logic here?

There's no point in asking this question as you'll never get the answer you're looking for. The only answer they can give you is "because the Bible says so." Yes, it makes sense to you and me that not EVERY religion can be right, but to them I guess it doesn't. Blinded by faith maybe?
The contradictions are the reason I'm an atheist....

Heaven and Hell are in the heart of man right where he is, on earth. For example, a man has to watch his wife and 12 year old daughter get raped and beat, with a gun at his head....that's hell. You achieve something you've been working on for the past 10 years....that's heaven. Great Grandparents seeing all of their children, and their children's children and their children gathered together is Heaven. Victims of Katrina and any other horrific act of nature has been through Hell. I believe when people get rid of the fantasy that hell and heaven exists somewhere after we die, they'll have more reverence for life and people now. Then certain religions wouldn't have to prove that theirs is the only right way. Which would mean the absence of some wars, violence, murders and discrimination. As a human being, I can't understand how, with all the hell that's created right here on earth by Christians, Muslims and other religions, that they actually feel it's necessary to condemn anyone to hell or that there is a need for one.

It doesnt matter how nice you are..or what you do. If you believe in Jesus you go to heaven, if not you dont. Theyre might be exceptions like tribes in the mountains or kids i dont know, thats for God to judge. The reason why Christians think theyre right is because they can feel God unlike a lot of other religions. Not only that..most religions believe in a higher power only during good times. Christians love Jesus despite what theyre thrown in life..and praise him for that..cause it happend for a reason..

honestly, it's not up to me. it's all up to God. the only way to God is through Jesus only. there is no other path. doesn't matter if you are "good" or not. in the book of Psalms, it states that "no one is good". if that were the case, Jesus' purpose for us would be moot. we all need a savior from the life of sin. either you chose God or reject God. there is no way around that. there is a consequence to both choices.
i understand you're not trying to pick a fight. that's the last thing i would want to do also. i can only give you what the God/bible said.
EDIT--i also don't think we're the only ones that are right. i do wrong because i sin. i do know that God is the only right way.

The Bible says that the gospel is preached to the dead. If you didn't hear about Jesus Christ in this life you will be taught about him in the next life.
1 Peter 4:6
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Forget about condemned to hell. If christians really had their way they would burn atheists like me at the stake and enjoy it. Luckily in this part of the world we can still have our say!

Because it isn't based on whether you're a "good" or "bad" person to get into Heaven. That's "works-based" salvation. It doesn't work that way. We are not saved by our own works. We can only be saved by the blood of Christ - only a perfect sacrifice would do to pay for all the sins of the world for all time, and only God is perfect. So He came in the flesh in the form of Jesus Christ to pay that penalty for ALL of humanity - Americans, Iraqis, Chinese, Tibetans, Norwegians, EVERYBODY. He gives this gift freely to us, so that we may enter Heaven undefiled by sin, and everyone on Earth sins. If people reject this free gift, then the only other alternative is that they must pay for their own sins themselves - and the "wages of sin is death" - permanent death. For those who have accepted this gift, death is only temporary, and then they receive eternal life when Christ returns for His people.
Buddha is dead, and has been for centuries. He cannot save anyone. It would be wrong to put one's faith in a dead person. The main difference between Christianity and all other religions is that it's the only one whose Founder is still alive.

We are taught that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus. By believing He is the Son and is God in human form. I really don't know enough about Buddhism, and it is only God's call to say if someone will go to hell. Not mine.

Well, what i think is that there is no such thing as hell, or the devil, hell was just made to scare people into converting, and the devil was made up to have someone to blame sins on, wen really it's yourself committing those sins, not the devil tempting you.
