Take her to the doctors. To keep the temp down you can give her a warm bath and a little bit of tylenol. If the cough sounds like a barking dog then get her in asap because she may have croup. Otherwise just keep her as comfortable as possible and get her in to the doctors soon

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DOCTOR RIGHT NOW!

For the meantime, get a bucket of cold water. Cut out a certain cloth piece into several rectangle. Soak those pieces one by one. Place on your child's forehead one at a time. Press gently. These would cool the temperature down.

Check the temperature at regular time.

Use VICKS on your child's chest.

Get a spoon. Put honey and mix with a bit of pepper. Then give it to your child for a temporary relief.

If conditions worsen then call the ambulance but I doubt it would!

Supervise your child 24/7 because she is only 20 months old! Make sure she is laid on her back!! and is getting enough oxygen..

Make sure you check if she is breathing. Look at her chest moving up and down. Lick your finger and rub on your cheek then move closer to your child's nose and feel the breath.

Call 000 if she can't breath. If she can't breath and give to rescue breathes. Make sure you have no infection when you do so.

Also make sure she is conscious. You can check this by tickling her feet. If they move then she is ! Why? Because babies are born with inborn reflexes such as automatic sucking; grasping and hand/feet movement.

Respond to any sort of reaction such as crying, moaning etc.

Good luck with everything! This common for all children to have it but take care as much as you can to protect her from SID.

usually a dr says that a infant/toddler doesn't have a fever unless it is 100.4 rectal. If she doesn't get any worse tonight or her fever doesn't spike higher as a mom I would tell you to go ahead and wait till tomorrow and give her dr a call for a sick visit in the am.

But if she spikes higher tonight has vommiting, loose stool I would say give them a call tonight. If you think she is really bad or fever is too high go to the er.

She sounds like it is a light cold, but you are mom and if you are uncomfortable go ahead and call your drs 24 hr number that is what it is for.

You can also give her some tylenol or motrin for the pain

just to be safe, i would visit a doctor, but if your worried about money and don't want to waste it, (i wouldn't think paying for a doctor's visit is wasting money) i would try like a medical website, like medicare, i think that's what it's called. good luck and i wish your baby a healthy life!
