Two state solution: dead?

Sorry to turn the topic away from the war in Gaza (not really)

but I would like to post a small question, Do you think a two state solution is possible, and if so how would you implement it?

For those like me who believe it is not going to happen what would you suggest?-- please be polite.

For example: I think the best course of action would be for Israel to integrate the West Bank in a similar way it has done with the Golan. This would include giving residency for the Palestinians living in the area and a path to citizenship for those who want it.

Final note- no rude or offensive comments, this includes insulting Arabs, Jews, any religion , Palestinians, Zionists, Israelis, or anyone else.

If you are unable to do that, please post somewhere else

Update:

hopeless, next time could you answer the question?

Update 2:

Paperback-- I specifically asked for things not like that...

It cannot be done. Groups like Hamas want Israel gone they will never accept becoming part of Israel. In all honesty they would be smart if they did they would easily become a majority and take over the country quite easily and peacefully.

If there is to be an Israel there needs to be a two state solution. The only other alternative is expulsion which is not a viable or humane one.

2 state solution is been long gone,

specially with the recent Evil acts on Gaza.

PS, what's so hard not getting what 'hopeless' is presenting?!

she/he got a solid point in which i agree totally.

A true peace plan (and one that could work) is actually a four state solution. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a key player in this peace plan. East Jordan (but not northeast Jordan) becomes "Palestine" (or whatever the Arabs wish to call it). West Jordan becomes The Kingdom of David (as that land is historically Jewish owned land, anyway). Israel agrees to recognize The Kingdom of David as well as "Palestine" and The Kingdom of Jordan. This will result in 24 Arab states and only two Jewish states, but I am such a fanatic for peace and such a fighter against hatred and prejudice that I am willing to go with that. We need peace in that part of the world. My plan is a viable peace plan. If you truly believe in peace, you should join me in promoting this plan.

What's happening now is similar to what happened in South Africa in the way that it took Nelson Mandela 30 years of being locked up. The world sat by. Then there were big protests and the British started firing on hundreds of thousands innocent people who had the right to speak their mind also. Then the world would not rest until the British got out of South Africa. Now the world is waking up, protests in every major city at the embassies. Israel could be making its own downfall. In 2009 war won't work anymore. Cheers!

Source(s): Israel could be making its own downfall=only one state of Palestine, with Israelis going to places where they will be more safe.

The so-called two-state solution is just a ploy to destroy Israel and expel the Jews R"L.

    That cannot happen.

Like you I don't believe it will happen. I could be wrong. If so it will be very different that what's expected.

However I believe this excursion into Gaza to take out Hamas will get the Pals a lot closer to it a lot quicker.

In the long run this will be better for them but it's going to cost them.

i do not believe that it is dead. the sole reason for this violence is bc of hamas, i do not believe that ordinary citizens really want this. i think that once hamas is toppled israel and the palestinians will be better able to talk peace

It was dead before it was born. It is a Jewish state for the Jews, and Jordan for the Arabs. Period.
