What costs extra on cruises?
I'll be on Carnival Cruise Line in January. The two main things i want to know is, does the spa cost extra? AND, what about the gym, does that cost extra as well?
the things i know that cost extra: excersions, and alcoholic beverages...

Hi,
The cabin staff are "given" a suggested tip, and you can request to reduce or eliminate that tip, or increase if you feel it was worth it.
I know a person that had one drink on all 19 bars on the ship, and was given a free t-shirt for this accomplishment. But I guess the cost of 19 drinks and he could have bought a nice suit in China or Hong Kong.
The Cruise line is graded on it's ability to extract fees from you. So for 20,000 passengers in one month, they are expected to raise so much money in tips, fees from excursions, rental of scuba or other equipment, even a certain target number of spa treatments.
Have fun, wish I could go! LOL

You won a cruise, really? Did you enter a contest such as a photography or essay contest? If not what you won is a timeshare presentation on a old dirty ship. Don't go! You will be extremely disappointed as that is not a real cruise. Now if you actually entered a contest and really won a cruise, you will have to pay pretty much the full amount a third person would pay. Remember that babies make plenty of messes and no cruise lets a infant cruise for free.
