If the X-ray didn't show anything, then it's probably not broken. You have a bad sprain and bruise and that can be very painful for some time. Limit use of the arm and take some Ibuprofen.

well with a big lump and bruise, did you think it wouldn't hurt? Put ice on it for twenty minutes every hour, rest and elevate the arm, take Ibuprofen to minimize inflammation.

It's probably just a bruise. with my experience, bruises can hurt more than broken bones.
