l'd think goldfish and tropical fish.

  • There are many common fish in home aquariums, the list is endless. It is dependent on location, availability, shipping, laws, import bans and restrictions, and personal preferences of anyone stocking store tanks. Commonly fish are separated by groups, such as live bearers, soft water, tetras, barbs, catfish, African cichlids, marine, etc. There are popular fish in each group, and stores select individually what to stock based on cost, availability and demand by that store's customers.

Goldfish. They are also the most abused. Right next to oscars.

Then it would be neon tetras probably. Then danios. And then probably guppies/platies/mollies.

i would say any variety of tetra.... as most of the smaller varieties are community fish and get along well with other tank mates... plus they come in a huge array of colours and sizes and are relatively inexpensive.
