Wow.
I would
1. Not tell anyone
2. Call and set appointments with 3 lawyers and 3 CPAs.
3. Take the best advice and hire the people
4. Claim the ticket as silently as possible
5. Pay off all business & personal debts, around $1.5 million
6. Start two or three charitable funds.
7. Start a company to employ my immediate family - 10 people plus.
8. Take a much needed, long vacation
9. Enjoy the rest of my life while helping as many people as I can
Great thoughts to start a new year. Thanks

You don't need to share, it isn't demanded of you. Society sees that as selfish, we are social creatures and the clan mentality is still with us. Survival chances improved in ancient times if we stuck together and helped each other. To walk passed the needy and not help when you can, is a sign of an abnormal personality. Giving to the poor and adopting a charity, are fulfilling and bring positive energy to the giving person.

Pay off my credit cards, student loans, house, and car (in that order). I'd probably move somewhere warmer (currently live in WI) as well. I'd do what i've always wanted to do and never had the money for.

Who really needs $500 mil. I would take like $150 million do my own thing, give my family and friends couple million and the rest would go to charities. Like St. Judes and and other charities I support. Maybe even build a school. IDK.
