Christians, do you know of a site that has free printable Bible Studies for brand new believers?

I want to have a guide to help a brand new convert get into the word of God. She has no church background, no Bible knowledge at all, other than the basic gospel message she responded to. I am looking for something similar to the Navigators "Growing Strong in God's Family", but preferably something I could download and print, rather than order and wait for.

Something will cover the very basics of the Christian faith for someone who has not been in church and doesn't have any background in "Christianese". Something that makes NO assumptions of prior knowledge.

    Click on audio bible and then scroll down...It has many many different subj. she can listen to.

    You can also buy her the book "Power of a Praying Woman" by Stormie Omartian. It is a very good book along with many scripture.

    It helped me understand just how powerful prayer really is. I believe all new Christians will be helped by this book. Plus she can look up scripture herself and highlight what speaks to her heart.

    May she be a tree planted in the living waters.

    These verses are for her...it came to mind as I was writing my answer.

    Psalm 1:1-3

    1 Blessed is the man

    Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

    Nor stands in the path of sinners,

    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

    2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

    And in His law he meditates day and night.

    3 He shall be like a tree

    Planted by the rivers of water,

    That brings forth its fruit in its season,

    Whose leaf also shall not wither;

    And whatever he does shall prosper.

    Give her this too...she will really be encouraged.

    Try an internet search for..Dr. J Vernon Mc Gee. in my opinion he is the most balanced of born again believers. He is passed away now . A true saint. He had a daily radio show for eons. One thing that really peeves me about a lot of churches is this idea that in order to be really saved...they have to speak in "tongues" This is the worst junk out there. Don't fall into this trap. In the long [or short] run you and churches that practice "speaking in tongues] will alienate a large group of potentially great christians. God Forbid...Totally. Stick to fundamental teachings that follow what the bible says. Churches can be very political with in them selves. I recommend a baptist church not connected to any other entity..such as a ..fundamental baptist church. Look in the yellow pages of your phone book. They may be hard to find..its a dying breed. Tongue speakers will try to deceive you by saying stuff like ...you need to speak/or have/receive the gift of tongues in order to communicate with God. Bunch of junk.. Tongues..the definition is ..a language that is not familiar. A different language. Tongue speakers want you to utter some mish mash out loud to verify your salvation or gift of tongues as they call it. Four square Gospel churches are one of them. I know. There aren't many good churches left and none will be perfect. Blessings.

    Just go surfing and you will find many sites. You can start with "bible" and Christian. Use religious and any other words like that will help you find a site you can use and each one will refer you to more sites. Sometimes surfing gets you more information than going to a specific site. Good Luck and Happy New Year!

    http://www.wclo.net/page5.html has materials designed for "mission field" use with simple English and good background information.

    These were designed for African (and other "third world") people who have little or no training and want to be able to teach people about Jesus and the church. There ARE some weaknesses, but the level of information for "free" and "recent" Bible study material is very good.

    Some free sites have sources that are old enough to be in the public domain. These tend to have less understandable English, and are often based on older, less accurate translations of the scriptures. Others "give" you very little information and expect you to purchase more complete materials. This is designed for people who usually cannot understand the older English Bibles and could not afford additional purchases, so it eliminates the two difficulties I mentioned.

    You can go to www.crosswalk.com and search there.

    Also go to www.ccel.com. I think that's it anyways...It's got a ton of classics including commentaries.

    Other than that, try podcasts, they are all free and can be very edifying. :)
