IF you had to pick ONE book from 2008 to put into.....?
If you had to pick one book... one single book -- not series-- not saga-- not trilogy (although I guess it could be part of a series) to put into a time capsule as representative of our literature and reading habits... What would it be???
Twilight didn't come out in 2008 so it doesn't qualify.
It's interesting to not that so far.. only two books have more than one vote.. They are The Shack and Breaking Dawn..
It's Ok Scrapbook Queen I don't have to do it either i was just interested in what others thought would be representative of our popular culture.

Brisingr by Christopher Paolini (the third book to my favorite series, The Inheritance Cycle). I just finished reading it last night and it was amazing! I can't wait for the last one of The Inheritance Cycle to come out!

7th Harry Potter. That book teaches great morals, but I'm not sure it came out in '08...
If not, I'd pick A Thousnad Splendid Suns or the Shack

Tough question.
Something short, to the point, because that's how we are these days.
Maybe something about the modern day family.
I don't have an answer for you.
Thank GOD I don't actually have to do this :P

Please don't discount this... I have to say Twilight, and not for the obvious reasons (I love Edward! I love Bella! etc.), but because it has been so popular the past few years, and turned into the next Harry Potter this year, especially with the movie coming out. I have seen everyone from ten-year-old girls to teenage boys to 60-year-old women buying this book and talking about it. So I pick Twilight, because it is the most talked-about book of 2008.
Oh, and like Harry Potter, I have heard countless stories of how Twilight got non-readers to start reading. Any book with that power deserves a mention!
