Why has the quality of questions in this forum deteriorated drastically in the past year?

I am appalled by what seems to pass for questions on this forum. Doesn't anyone know how to write the English language anymore? Doesn't anyone care what others think of them? Isn't there any place left that people who are interested in the language can ask questions and get knowledgeable answers?

Update:

The language panel seems to concern languages other than English. I am interested in the English language. But this is irrelevant. The question remains -- why has the quality of questions deteriorated? Obviously it's because the level of intelligence of the people asking questions has deteriorated. Part of the generally poor quality of Y/A.

I am disgusted with the general deterioration of language and grammar. I get very frustrated with bad spelling and I have significant difficulty trying to tolerate the lazy and idiotic texting language such as u for you. Ack. It is bad enough that so many can't spell any more, but even worse that most are too lazy to even use the spell checker.

I believe the world of "texting" has lent itself to forums of any kind on the Internet. People ignore the spell checker and are therefore regarded as lazy when their questions are submitted. When I answer questions, my dictionary and thesaurus are by my side. As a quiet protest, I do not respond to questions with dreadful grammar and spelling. We must gently guide people towards the proper usage of this wonderful language.

It's going to get worse. Thanks to unionized teaching. Benefits before brains.

You could try the language section.
