A car CD player problem!!?

I recently got a new Pioneer CD player for my Commodore (im Australian!) because my last **** itself. Anyway, got it all wired up no worries.. a few snips here, couple of clips there, and its hooked up no worries. But, I have a problem. The CD player doesnt remember the preset radio stations? If I turn it off then turn it back on a couple of mins later, itll be ok and remember the presets. But if i turn it off, and maybe turn it on a couple of hours later it wont remember them.. any ideas?

There should be a + wire for constant power. It needs to be hooked to a power source that does not turn off when the car is off. You can also hook it direct to the battery.

Use a 12volt test light and have your car off test all connections to stereo for a wire with constant power this is your memory wire it is required for your stereo to keep clock and presets saved if your stereo remembers the presets for a little bit maybe its a short and every now and then it vibrates breaking the connection resetting the Cd player

With all the snipping and clipping, you probably missed a step. The radio probably needs a wire that's always "hot" so that the radio always has some power. Unlike flash drives, mp3 players, etc, your station settings aren't stored on memory that can retain its information without lack of power.

Sounds Like The People At Best Buy's Did Not Do The Wiring Properly =/ You Should Go Back And Have Them Take A Look.
