Intel Core i7 or Core 2 Duo 3.16 GHz?

Core i7 is CPU($300 low end) + $300 motherboard + DDR3 ram (not cheap yet like DDR2). That's one enitre C2D build right there.

Wait for next year as the i7s roll into the market. They're fast, but will cost a lot to be an early adapter.

The Core i7 is the newest type of processor from intel. It is a better choice in the long run. the main differences are the native quad core design of the i7 plus it has an integrated memory controller so it doesn't use a front side bus. which means faster access times, so things will load quicker. i would buy the core 17 just because its future proofing.

It will require a more expensive motherboard and ram. but ddr3 ram prices have been dropping alot. you can get 4gigs for under $100 dollars online

It also uses a new socket on the motherboard. 1366 instead of 775 for the core 2 duos

intel core i7 is the best.

in case you like a miles better overall performance on your gadget! get homestead windows 7 in simple terms actual 64bit overclock your cpu get geforce gt 520 after which you are going to have the in simple terms actual overall performance! geforce gt 210 isn't nicely worth procuring!! get geforce gt 520 or gt 610!!! its for 2300-2800 rupees!
