My Ipod won't turn on! Help!?

So...I dropped it. But not a very long distance...nothing cracking, nothing broke...it kept right on playing the song I was on. Then, I walked into work and had to turn it off and put it in my purse. When I got it out of my purse that night...it wouldn't turn on. When I plug it in my computer doesn't even recognize it...

Has this happened to anyone before? I don't have a service warranty so to fix it with apple would cost $100....and I might as well buy a new one. Any ideas or suggestions?

this did happen to me once. well for me it just froze, and it did that a lot after a while, and one day even my computer didnt recognize it. you can register it online and then go to the apple store.

i had a video ipod, 30 gigs and they fixed it. i didnt have to do anything but tell them the numbers/letters on the back of the actual ipod. no proof of purchase, no warranty, nothing. they said it was a technical problem of many ipods and just gave me a new one.

I did this before! Google how to reset if and if that doesnt work then plug it into your computer again, and go to my computer and see if you see the ipod in there and double click and it should bring itunes open then just reset it to default settings.

This happened to me but i had warrenty and i brought it to geek squad and thats all they did and it worked o_O

you probably need to reset it. for my nano its something like hold down menu and play for 6 seconds until the apple comes on the screen. hope this helps :)

Try flipping the hold button on and then off...

And then you hold the menu and the middle down for about ten seconds.

    That should reboot it.
