I love being alone. I can concentrate and come up with ideas as I have the peace to do so. The idea of being unable to be with other people does not make me happy. I like people and being around them sometimes is a pleasure.

Solitude certainly has it's attraction. However, I don't think we're hard wired to endure solitude indefinitely. I'm not a big movie fan and normally don't like to hear analogies based on movie plots. However, the movie "Castaway" offered up an example of what I think is the norm regarding isolation from other human beings. Remember, the ultimate prison punishment is "solitary confinement".

I believe in a Creator and that He found it fit to give His creation, Adam, a human companion, Eve. Finally, at the risk of contradicting myself; I'd say that if I personally had to endure absolute and indefinite mortal solitude, I would console myself with the knowledge that my companion is, and always will be, my Creator.

    NO

it also doesn't surprise me that my answer is totally different than most people.

i think people think others are weak showing needs for some companionship.

But, I think admitting your "weakness & needs only makes you stronger"

No man is an Island unto himself

It says: In the little adam & eve story true or not?

that God looked upon Adam in the garden & knew he was lonely

& didn't think it was good for him.

    So he created a companion

    he'd "REALLY LIKE"

    :-)

    because he loved man.

To ignore basics needs of wanting someone will only make you more miserable but to grasp onto it & embrace our needs & enjoy them is what I think living is all about!

Interesting Question and it comes up lots here.

I feel wanting & needing someone around is perfectly natural and to reach for that is even more natural

but everyone has a right to their opinions.
