Which group is more intolerant, the Taliban or the Protestant zealot "right"?

If left to their own devices, they would be equally intolerant. (Check out godhatesamerica.com. You will see what I mean.)

Fanatics are fanatics, they all share the same mentality- this goes for things religious, informational, as well as political, everything else is secondary. Some fanatics are religious, some are political, some are conspiracists. The mentality is all the same: I'm right you're wrong period, US vs. Them., "we're the 'good' guys and you're part of the 'evil', if you're not with us you're against us and you must be removed.

Watch and you'll see the pattern.

In context, I'd say the fundies over here are worse. After all, you kind of expect religious extremism and fundamentalism in the Middle East, but we're supposed to be more open and enlightened in the US.

Despite the cries of "persecution" that come from the anti-religious left, no rational mind can make such an infantile comparison.

Pat Robertson has said some silly things...he has also said some excellent things...but he has never beheaded anyone.

Christian's didn't hijack 4 airplanes and crash them into tall buildings on 9-11.

Christians may not like gay marriage, but they don't publicly execute people for sodomy. Neither do they cut off their hands for theft.

Such a suggestion is not only ignorant, but willfully so, and intentionally insulting....not just to Christians but to anyone capable of rational thought.

Grow up.

One group outright seem intolerant in defending their land and culture whatsoever that may be. The other group is intolerant to push their ideology and culture in the cover of democracy and moderation on others to the extent to invade and bomb their countries. Now I leave it to you decide.

The Taliban, but to be honest I'd be afraid if the extreme Protestants were ever able to do anything they wanted.

Secular influences in the West are the only reasons Christians don't behave the same as Muslims.

edit: Either they are commiting atrocities or turning a blind eye when their fellow Muslims do. As long as that belief system exists, there will be terror.

Well, stoning children to death for not listening to their parents is Biblical...

Of course, that would mean they would have to start following the rest of the OT laws. (I wonder how many children the Dugger's would have if they following Jewish purity laws and kept apart for 10-14 days/month...)

If left unrestrained there would be little to distinguish any difference other than dress.
