Which Marriage Scenario is Worse for a Religious Right Winger? ?
Which marriage scenario is worse for a religious right winger?
Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston NOT getting married?
or A loving, homosexual couple getting married?
Hey, Religious Right people. How come you are skipping over the first part of the question about is it OK to get a girl pregnant and then not marry her?
Why are you totally avoiding the first part of the question and just focusing on the second part about denying gay rights?

I'm not taking a position or speaking for right or left wingers.
I'd just like to point out that in a certain sense both of these would be viewed by some, particularly Christians, as fornication---sex without marriage.
Interesting how people seem to be privileging one form of fornication over another form of fornication, in the name of marriage.
Seems in this instance they'd destroy marriage to save it. Interesting.

Probably the gay scenario. The Religious Right is singlularly focused upon vilifying gays (second only to banning abortion) as their primary reason for existence, instead of, ya know, what Jesus actually wanted us to do.

well im not religious at all and i dont hate gays at all BUT
the fact is marriage is a religious tradition, and there is a seperation of church and state so the way i see it the states/canada cant actually legalize something that actually isnt connected to a branch of government.
so what i think they should do is make the legally recognized thing for a connection of 2 couples as a "civil union" and make "marriage" a religious special occasion version, witch is able to be preformed by the church for who ever the church excepts to do it for.
so basically EVERONE would be legally listed as a civil union. but could do there own ritual as to how they are married

In typical Religious Right wing logic Sarah Palin summed it up this way:
“The reason that the kids are not married is because homosexual marriages have totally ruined that sacred institution for everyone.”
“And I can tell you that it doesn’t matter if Bristol Palin and Levi Johnson get married or not because I can see Russia from my porch.”
“The baby-out-of-wedlock just sota Tripped up that marriage rule stuff, so that is how, if fact, the baby got its name.”
“I like to compartmentalize my morality.”

The Homosexual one.
Do you know how much the Religious Right and other Conservatives harp on the Gay Marriage thing. The Evangelicals are truly the worst when it comes down to that. I never got that though, if God wants to punish them then he would, but why does it effect Conservatives if Gays want to marry?
Please, don't spout that Prop 8 nonsense again.

Which scenario is worse for you
Not pulling your head out of your butt or admitting that religious Republicans, even Christian republicans, aren't monolithic?

The definition of marriage since the beginning of time has been the union between members of the opposite sex. That union does not require official recognition only a commitment of two people in a covenant.

A man and a woman together is natural and what nature intended. Same sex together is just a sexual perversion of what is normal and natural.

I think it cheapens marriage to add anything other than one man and one woman. Sorry.
