Aother overtime question with a twist...?

in the overtime am i the only one who saw a chargers player grabbing a mask at the same as the colts lineman (his name escapes me right now) and aren't u allowed to hit a wideout within five yards from scrimmage meaning the defensive holding shouldn't have been called and this is just curiosity why didn't the chargers kick a field goal on the play they scored the game winner but instead risk a fumble by the way im an unbiased lions fan

Kaeding is known not to be so hot in his field goals in the playoffs, so why risk it, fumbles rarely happen in such a case

They did not kick a field goal because the ball was on the 22 yard line and the attempt would have been from 39 yards...not exactly like kicking an extra point. All they were doing was trying to get the ball closer for a shorter FG attempt. Sproles did them better by busting through for the TD.

What I question is that the Colts had 1 second on the clock at the end of the 4th quarter and Manning just went down on his knee. Why not throw a deep pass and see what happens? You never know and if you get a PI call you'll get a FG try.

Well get this didn't the Chargers give the Colts 2 turnovers and shouldn't they have taken advantage of our supposedly weak pass defense? They got shutout in the 4th quarter and needed trickery to score. Also Sproles broke the run loose so why would he go down. He saw daylight and knew he could do a sharp cut on Bethea for a TD. Game Over like Jamal Williams says. Also Kaeding is not a good clutch kicker. We lost to the Jets and Patriots in the playoffs cause he missed. I'm surprised he even made the one to tie it.

You are allow to jam them or push but not hold even within the 5 yards.

The refs got the correct call on the facemask.

Why kick a field goal? Kaeding was known to miss many such field goal in the past during playoff.

There were two facemasks, you are right!

You can hit a reciever within 5 yard of the LOS, you still can't grab him. A bump is OK, holding onto his jersey is not.

i guess they're trying to get as close as possible but scored a touchdown instead.
