Can AT&T check text messages?

ok so I have unlimited texting and mms but i was just wondering. Can ur cell phone companies check what u are writing or sending and furthermore would it ever cause a problem if they were nosey and did decide to check and found something they didnt like. My cell is not under my name so it makes me even more worried. So can companies like AT&T check your messages or pics u send or get u in trouble with them? thanx. and please don't be perverted it's not like that.

sent or received text messages are saved on their server until it reaches a limit they have set then it is deleted and replaced by another text message. If the FBI or police need records of your text messages they can get them from AT&T, that's how they were able to get text messages that was sent by the late Chris Beniot and city officials that have been in the news.

I have often thought about that myself and yes if a company was being nosey they could see what you was writing or sending they must have a Legal reason to do so and a warrant too monitor your account so with millions and millions of text messages going out a day I wouldn't worry about it if you are not planning a big terror attack or something then I wouldn't worry.. But for a company to be reading and looking for pleasure would be a invasion of your privacy just like a wiretap and you would have a pretty good law suit I would think..

Yes, they can. I promise you.

I used to always think they couldn't, but my dad has been reading mine for the past 5 months.

If you parents ask for them, they can email you them.

Source(s): My own experience..got grounded too.
